A Home
When first hearing about Kansas, Oklahoma some might think of it as a place where "the tumbleweeds roll and the dust kicks up on your windshield." You might be surprised, though, that on the 1000 acres that Cookson Hills owns (and in the surrounding hills) you can actually find vegetation and REAL TREES! (check our our campus from the air) And if you've visited our campus already, you may already understand what I'm talking about.
In technical terms, Cookson Hills is a DHS licensed residential childcare facility. But in English, we are what some might call a children's home. You will not find iron bars around your windows or a "warden" patrolling the halls. Instead, you'll find curtains and a set of houseparents ("mom" and "dad") who have been praying for you since they heard you might be coming. And they're not the only ones.
