The education program at Cookson Hills exists to supplement the efforts of our basic child care ministry. Students in grades K-12 are involved in an Oklahoma state-accredited program staffed by dedicated and professionally qualified Christian teachers.

Often students who come to Cookson have fallen behind in their schoolwork and are not performing on grade level. Small class size, close cooperation with parents, and activities designed to support them, help most of the students experience a level of success not before possible.

Cookson is able to offer a variety of on-the-job training opportunities in the areas of construction, electricity, plumbing, automotive, secretarial, etc. These experiences are available through the school's vocational program as well as through the relationships developed in child care. Students cannot only get a head start in learning a trade but also in earning some money.
Another important aspect of the school program is the extracurricular activities such as student council, yearbook, Bible Bowl, athletics, and choir. Most of the students get involved in positive activities of their choice in which they were not likely to participate before coming to Cookson.
